No assembly needed. Just take it out of the box and put it to use. The hinges of each panel bend both ways. The screen is lightweight enough to easily move around from place to place, but also well constructed. The faux rice paper allows light through, but people/solid objects cannot be seen through it. This quality of completely obscuring direct visibility was very important to me because in my new rental unit, someone standing outside my living room window can see right into both my bedroom doorway and my bathroom doorway (and unfortunately, the shower door is in plain view when looking in through the bathroom doorway). With the divider screen strategically placed, I can now move between my bedroom and bathroom (including the shower) without being seen and without having to shut the doors or close the blinds. For maximum stability, I recommend keeping the two middle panels straight and bending the outside panels in opposite directions (i.e. one forward and one backward). I have two cats that love to run around and wrestle each other, usually colliding with various objects as they do, and so far with the screen in this configuration, they have not tipped it over. I highly recommend this product. It arrived in the San Francisco Bay Area in less than a week from Werfurniture, and in perfect condition.

This screen is just right for hiding the junk in the corner, or closing off part of a large room to make it cozy. The stain on the wood frame is beautiful. The rice paper lets the light come though so you do not get that closed in feeling. Easy to move from room to room. And the price is right.

really makes my room look very classy - I live in a comfortable, but boxy, house, and this screen really enhances the atmosphere.

I just moved, and the screen continues to be excellent. Bear in mind that in Japan and asia
space is often limited, and the Japanese are noted for taking a small space and giving it a
spacious, yet private, feeling. The shoji screen is the tool par excellence for doing this. Thus
if you have, say, a computer table in close proximity to your kitchen, just put a shoji screen
around the computer to restore harmony in your space. Having a guest over and he is sleeping
in the living room? Give him instant privacy by putting a shoji screen across the room.
Just look in your space and note what distracts or complicates your perceptions.
Could be piles of junk, a cat box, a desk in your living room, or an open kitchen next to a
living room, etc. A good tool to "do more with less" in this economy.

I ordered two sets of screens and when they arrived I was disappointed to see that they were unevenly assembled (the four panels were attached at different heights so that only two of them actually touched the floor) making them unstable unless you accordianed them tightly. I was surprised because the other customers who reviewed them had given them such high-star reviews for quality.

So I emailed the company and they responded within 24 hours and asked me to send them photos, which I did. They emailed me back the next day, telling me that they were going to send the photos to their factory. They also offered me a 50% total refund if I was willing to keep them. Since I'm handy, and could take them apart and reassemble them more evenly in my workshop, I thought this was a very good offer. And very fair.

I am actually planning to order another one because I'm impressed by their quick response, and by how they stand behind their product and take quality control feedback seriously.

This is a good screen for the $109 plus shipping that I paid. It's not an expensive screen but the quality is quite reasonable for the price. It's light weight and easy to move about, the rice paper backing is nice for letting the light shine through.

Excellent buy, beautiful screen. We actually ordered 2 more when we saw how functional & pretty they are. They seperate spaces in our basement (Laundry from kids' music area - drums, guitars). The kids like them, too.

This screen is exactly what I needed and expected and I am very satisfied with the quality. Upon arrival I noticed that one of the panels had warped a little and then it warped more after being in my home for a couple of weeks. I notified FurnitureMaxx customer service and they sent me out a new screen without any hassle. 4 Stars for the screen 5 stars for FurnitureMaxx.

I bought this screen to partition off a small nook in the living room that I'm using for a home office. I couldn't be happier. It is a great value compared to similar items I've seen at local retailers. I like the clean lines and the four-panel design is large enough to give me some privacy while working. It fits in well with my living room decor and is exactly what I was looking for. It is attractive, well-built, and a good value.

I was not too sure about purchasing this item to begin with. It turned out a lot better than what I expected. It arrived in great condition, annd it looks really great on my office. I love it, it brightens my office. The price is very reasonable.

I purchased this Room Divider for my studio apartment to divide the bedroom from the living room and it looks absolutely beautifull. I like that it lets light go through but you can't see what's behind so it gives privacy without making the bedroom dark. I also like the weight because it doesn't fall and also it is easy to carry or change of place or possition.
